The Diamond Quality of Meta Communication
The simple game called "Roll along the ball"
The
simple game The ball is past on to the person
to left or right and then is returned and then to the next player
and so on. (In the above Diagram
there are 8 players though theoretically the number of players can
be endless). Each time the ball is returned it
brings different information.
It is the same ball returned each time, but indirectly it
brings also an added dimension, the dimension of Synergy.
The player might smile as they return the ball, or start
talking /maybe laugh. Sounds
can even be introduced into the game. In its natural organic
formation, there will begin a synergy effect which influences
all the players. Each
time the ball is rolled along, it carries new information.. Then another ball is introduced
into the game at the completion of the first round and is rolled
across the circle by the player to the left
or right, at this moment the synergy increases, the
concentration the fun aspect accelerates due to the anticipation at
the possibility of rolling the 2 balls across the circle without
collision. Then a 3rd
ball is introduced at the end of the second round.
And so on The
Advanced Game This version of the game adds at least another circle of Players linked to the first circle for example linked to player 2. When player two rolls the ball back to player 1, he thereafter starts the game in circle 2 by rolling the ball in the new circle.
What is demonstrated here is the fundamental connection to all play. The Meta Optimal Connection (the communication building blocks of play) Imagine, I join in your play, you have an idea of building a school, I bring along my cardboard box . You or I or both, see the the potential of the cardboard box to become a school . A third person comes along with some crayons and scissors. Each one owns their objects and are willing to show the ability and power these objects have and the ability and power this person has, who has these objects (an idea is also an object) A flurry of communication is already underway, verbal, body and mental. Another joins who has a toy car , this can be used bacause one has to travel to the school, or maybe the cardboard box could be transformed into a garage for the car, Which this latest person wishes. A flurry of communication of who's idea it was and who is in charge of the game is quickly communicated , though the natural power and leader of the game which lies in the first one who has the idea of building a school, may now shift.to building a garage. Another joins with several cardboad boxes, and then it all goes up on building a new school which has a garage. the game is so exciting that the one with the car may fantasasize about a large garage the next time. The one with the original idea may wish in the future more exciting ideas as he goes home with one of the boxes converted into his school. The other person with the cardboardboxes goes home now with the idea for a cardboard school and a garage. And the one who came with the toy car now goes home and..... Although the game looks finished, one could say it has only just begun!
